Hear ye, Hear ye!

Okay, the primaries are over, the results are in.  So now what?  Well, I’d like to cast my vote for some classic rock n’ roll!

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again:  “Rock Around the Blog” is the source for sneak peaks into the inner workings of Rockbox Theater.  And a little bird told me that their newest labor of love this weekend is a rockin’ set of classic Clapton -- Eric, that is.  Wait until you hear Russ and TJ pull off awesome renditions of some of Clapton’s classic hits.

And that’s just a taste of what’s cookin’ this weekend at your favorite music venue.  So call now for reservations.  No really, I mean right now.  Why are you still reading this?  You should be dialing by now. . .

Just kidding:-)  This has been a white-hot update from your bloggin’ dee-jay, Johnny Hits.  I’m signing off the web and reminding you:  “We’re saving a seat for you at the Rockbox!” 

Hot off the press!

Russ Hearn, musical director, is usually pretty hush-hush about what songs will be performed on any given weekend.  But yours truly scored some insider info about what to expect at the Rockbox this weekend, Feb. 22-24.

Word on the street is that Mo and Bro will be premiering a brand new bit this weekend.  That’s right:  never-before-seen songs and antics from the “kings of tomfoolery.”  I can’t let you in on too many details, but suffice it to say that our two favorite brothers have recently discovered a new mission -- to rid the earth of germs.

So wash your hands thoroughly and come on out this weekend to the rockin’-est place in the hill country.  Along with Mo and Bro, you’ll get a healthy dose of doo-wop, Motown and who knows?  The Fab-Four from Liverpool might even show up (hint, hint).

Behind the curtain -- Feb. '08

The British are coming!  The British are coming! (Well, sort of).  Along with the usual rock n’ roll buffet served up every week at the Rockbox Theater, you can expect an extra helping of The Beatles thrown in during the month of February.  From their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show to their “Sergeant Pepper’s years” – don’t miss our musical tribute to the Fab-Four.

Behind the curtain -- January '08

The new 2008 season is upon us, and this one proves to be full of exciting new material.

Mo and Bro have a new mission: to rid the earth of their latest phobia – germs.  And wait until you get musically “edukated” in the Mo and Bro school of germ warfare.  Washing your hands will never be the same.

Remember the movie Wayne’s World?  The head-banging scene in the car has become a classic piece of 80’s pop culture.  Well, you won’t believe what we’ve done with the epic song in that scene -- Bohemian Rhapsody.  Queen never imagined it like this.  Let’s just put it this way:  when we get done with this version, you’ll look at us like a deer caught in the headlights!

We’re really excited about this next feature.  New in our ’08 concerts is a section called “This week in music.”  Ever wonder what the number one song was 30 or 40 years ago?  Get ready as we play songs that were number one during that exact week in history!  Do we know how to custom-tailor a program or what?
